2. Security Information
The secure server uses 128bit SSL encryption with a digital certificate issued by Thawte. This is to encrypt all data as it is transferred over the Internet. The secure servers are situated on a standalone private network completely isolated from other networks and connections. They have a single resilient connection to the Internet, which is serviced through dual dedicated ICSA compliant Watchguard firewalls. The servers are further secured through "server lock" protection, with all credit card details encrypted through 3DES encryption.
3. What about my rights under the Data Protection Act?
The rules on Data Protection (in the UK) state that as long as a company is only storing information on its customers for accounts and in-house marketing purposes, then there is no special requirement to register with the Data Protection Registrar. By using our service we are not falling within this requirement. For further information see www.dataprotection.gov.uk.
4. Card Verification Number Scheme (CV2)
The Card Verification Number Scheme (CV2 or CVS) is a new standard in online ordering systems as a further layer of security to 'Card Holder Not Present' purchases. Basically the CVS/CV2 number is the 3/4 digit number located on the back of your credit/debit card signature strip. This simply allows us to check that you are who you say you are and that you have the card present when you are making an online order
